What is and what we do in your "First Appointment" visit?

Once you arrive to our premises, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff who will definitely make you feel comfortable and guide you in every step of your treatment.

During your first appointment, your qualified physiotherapist will review your health history and discuss with you in detail, the information related to your complaint/ injury or surgery. Your therapist will then explain the process of the assessment and obtain your informed consent to assess and treat you.

Your condition will then be assessed and examined though special tests, manual skills and other appropriate medical methods of analysis. Thus, you are require to wear comfortable clothes during the assessment.

After your assessment, the physiotherapist will work with you to set goals according to your needs and a treatment plan will be established.

What is and what we do in your "Follow Up Appointment" visits?

Each follow-up treatment session will consist of a variety of treatments which are aimed to best aide your specific problem. You can be re-assessed at any time or request an initial assessment on a different area of your body.

Your physiotherapist will work to treat the underlying cause of your problem, and not just the initial symptoms. They will not only aim to correct your problems; but will provide you with information on your injuries, treat the necessary areas, and teach you specific exercises that will help you to solve the problem and prevent reoccurrence. A.Teklos physiotherapy clinic has its own gym, enabling your physiotherapist to create and demonstrate a customized exercise programme specifically to aid your rehabilitation needs.

Some of the main approaches that our physiotherapists use are:

Exercise – will strengthen weak muscles and prevent reoccurrence of injury
Mobilisation techniques – reduces stiffness and joints which increases the range of movement
Manual Therapy Techniques – where the physiotherapist aids recovery by using their hands to relieve muscle pain and stiffness, and encourage blood flow to an injured part of the body
Other Techniques – such as heat, cold to ease pain
Ultrasound, Diathermy and/or Laser – speeds up the repair of muscles, ligaments and tendons
Balance - to increase your proprioception and stability
Traction –to reduce the pain from disc protrusions in the back or neck
